Fulltime | 2 positions | Full year As the PR & Graphic, you will play a key role in shaping and sharing the Emergence brand, ensuring it resonates with external audiences and supporting the growth of meaningful collaborations. This dual role focuses on public relations to build awareness, increase visibility, and connect the Emergence story with a broader audience, while also developing strategic partnerships that align with Emergence’s mission. To keep Emergence’s message impactful and cohesive, you will be working closely with PR, Graphic Design, and Management. Fulltime | 1 position | Full year The Curator of Events oversees the (re)imagination, coordination and management of events organized, attended, or participated in by Emergence. In these events, the focus is to enhance the visibility of Emergence and the collaborations with and also within the team. The aim is to comprehensively showcase the vision, mission and projects of Emergence. and correctly translate a clear and complete representation of Emergence at an event. You will also be the face of the New Media Project and the primary contact point for external parties. Key Responsibilities: - Science/Tech Communication: Effectively convey complex scientific and technological information to a wide range of audiences, ensuring accessibility regardless of background or expertise. - Research and Approach: Conduct foundational research for developing a new artistic medium and an artistic experience. Your artistic work will help bridge the gap between art and science, creating engaging and accessible experiences through visual elements. You will lead the creation of sketches, mockups, and other artistic representations that serve as the foundation for the new artistic medium. Key Responsibilities: - Artistic Conceptualization: Create innovative and imaginative visual concepts to communicate complex technological and scientific ideas in an accessible and engaging way. You will work closely with the concept and documentation teams to ensure that fabricated components meet project specifications and contribute effectively to the final new artistic medium. Fulltime | 1 position | Full year As a Mechanical Engineer within the New Media Project (NMP), you will bring the team’s concepts to life by fabricating physical prototypes. You’ll manage material selection, use fabrication tools and software and refine prototypes through testing, all while collaborating across disciplines to integrate the final output into a new medium. Key Responsibilities: - Problem-Solving: Identify fabrication challenges and propose innovative solutions to meet project goals. - Design and Analysis: Create and analyze mechanical systems using CAD to ensure designs meet specifications and safety standards. - Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes, working closely with other teams to refine designs and improve functionality. - Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members to integrate fabricated components into the final artistic output.
